Greek cooking offers an incredibly rich and diverse array of foods and beverages that are the culmination of literally thousands of years of living, cooking, and eating. While each Greek meal is fresh and inviting, it is also a trip back through Greece's history. When we started
compiling this book we took into consideration that most people work and don't
have much time for long and complicated preparations. We have therefore selected
a small number of basic Greek recipes which are quick to prepare, and hope that
you will be tempted to try them out and enjoy! Of course we have also included
recipes which require more time, e.g. for that special Sunday lunch. We want you
to enjoy cooking Greek food and so most of the Greek dishes are simple to
prepare. It is the various spices used by the Greeks that make their food so
delicious, especially the herb Oregano. |
